Peg Pondering Again

  • Palm Sunday 2017

    April 7th, 2017

    Palm Sunday

    How can one make this Holy Week, truly Holy?

    Welcome our Lord into your heart and keep Him there for this upcoming week, and strive to keep Him there forever. Grow in faith. Hold on to the conversion of heart He is offering you.

    Receive the Sacrament of Confession which returns your soul to the state it was in the day you were baptized. A clean and beautiful temple to receive our Lord.

    Attend Holy Mass and pay attention. Listen to every word, participate when you are to participate. Sing when you are to sing. Listen intently to what is being read. Follow with your heart as the Priest speaks. Forget distractions seeing to pull you away from our Lord.

    Receive our Lord in the Eucharist. Speak to Him when you do receive Him.

    Pray more this week. Try praying the entire Rosary daily, or add praying Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours). Just speak to our Lord in all ways, in all instances, at every moment you are awake. Be aware at all times that He is truly with you in what you are doing and INVITE Him in to your activities, like you would invite your best friend. Try Lectio Divina, “Divine Reading” – Lectio Divina”, a Latin term, means “divine reading” and describes a way of reading the Scriptures whereby we gradually let go of our own agenda and open ourselves to what God wants to say to us.

    You can also pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

    Reflect on the Gospels of this week. Stations of the Cross is a beautiful reflection on how great our Lord suffered for us. Try to attend Daily Mass every day this week. Especially during the Easter Triduum, “The Easter Vigil is the “Mother of All Vigils.” If you can’t attend daily Holy Mass, look for it on EWTN, or any other Catholic TV station via the internet. You can find it online, for rebroadcasts any time of day.

    The Easter Triduum:

    • Mass of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Thursday)
    • Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion
    • Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord

    Don’t forget that Easter does not end after you have your family meal together Sunday after attending Holy Mass. Easter has just begun. Come Monday, while everyone returns back to work, and lent done, Easter has just begun and is not over until the coming of the Holy Spirit, Pentecost Sunday. We often forget that after our Lords Resurrection, many things took place and Easter lasts for FIFTY days after Easter Sunday.

    Divine Mercy Sunday is the Sunday following Easter Sunday. The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday at 3:00 PM, the hour our Lord gave Him self for us.

    This is the season we are to look forward to. The great celebration that comes from repenting, turning away from the old self and putting on the new man, working with our Lord to live as He has called us. Let Him into your heart. Let Him roll away the stone in your heart and live with Him in His peace and joy. Leave the tomb of self behind. Allow yourself this week, to be crucified with Him and therefore, rise with Him.

    Keeping you all in my prayers, praying you “Be not afraid” and “Follow Him”. “Be holy”.

  • Useless Without Jesus Christ

    April 1st, 2017

    without-me-ye-can-do-nothing

    This past Thursday, as I attended Holy Mass, there was a slight disturbance that took place which broke into a deep sense of pondering it.

    We also look at distractions as nothing more than aggravations or personal spiritual attacks,  which take place to disturb us from where WE want to be, and seldom look at them as a means to ponder our Lord more deeply.

    Just before the liturgy of the Word at Holy Mass, as the Lector began to read, she realized that the microphone was not working. She fumbled about trying to get it to work for a while and after a few silent moments summonsed the altar servers and they went into the back to turn them on. As I was focused on the problem, I realized my attention was taken away from our Lord. It was a moment of silence in which I heard our our distinctively say to me, “Pray”. And in that very moment of hearing Him, I prayed for the problem to be fixed. The very second my interior prayer ended, the microphones worked and the Lector continued on. It was not me who made this work. It was not me who did anything. I did nothing. It was our Lord who did everything. And this is true for all prayers. Its not us who make the flowers grow. We dig the holes and plant the seeds, we water them and it is our Lord who makes them grow.

    As I pondered this moment in the last few days I came to see how helpless and useless we truly are without the direction of our Lord.  In that moment of silence, my focus being on the little distraction, and not on Him, I couldn’t even remember to pray for this issue for her to come to a close, without the direction of our Lord to have to tell me to pray. And in that moment, He showed me that in asking, we truly do receive and “without me you can do nothing”.

    How deep a fact that is of our Lord, to come to grips with this? It draws me into John 5:30, in which our Lord says, “I cannot do anything on my own; I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the one who sent me.”

    “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

  • Entering Into Others Suffering

    March 30th, 2017

    Raising_Lazarus

    “And Jesus wept.”

    Pondering how our Lord entered into Martha and Mary’s suffering, during the death of their brother Lazarus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died”, allowing us to realize how much more we suffer without Him.

    We should never be afraid to enter into others suffering. Nor should we ever be to proud to share our suffering with others.

    When we share in others, it is then we become an answer to their prayer. A shoulder to cry on. A warm hug in the raging storm of another. An ear to just listen. Another to pray with. Sometimes, its all a soul needs to be embraced by the love of our Lord, to help them out of the isolation of despair they can easily fall into.

    When we are overcome with pride, we fear sharing with others our sufferings, because we think we have to be tough. We have to be strong. We can’t be compassionate because it looks like weakness.

    Its the contrary with humility and faith. Its a sure sign of the strength of our Lord, to weep with others in their pain. In their struggles. How we long for their pain and suffering to be diminished. If I could take away your pain I would. I can only share in yours and be there for you, to help you carry your cross. It is our Lord who wipes away the tears, takes away the mourning, and pain.

    When I ponder this Sundays gospel of our Lord raising Lazarus from the dead, I see Him entering into our pain and suffering no matter how great it may be, and overcoming it with His Life. I see Him entering into the death of our loved ones,  giving us hope and pulling us out of the final end that death once held, which is His place. His domain. I see Him entering into our own death, and commanding death to untie us, and let us go, as it could not hold Him.

    “I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord;
    whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will never die.”

    Jesus Homeless

    A few days ago,  seen a homeless man. I  stopped and gave him some change & asked him his name, after I prayed with him.  As I was leaving him, I heard a voice which tried telling me I was an idiot & a fool to do it. I began thinking maybe he wasn’t really homeless.

    Today,as I was leaving my house,  I noticed my neighbor had someone raking his yard & cleaning it up for him. It looked like the homeless man. I ran to the store and did what I needed to do. When I was returning and I pulled  into my driveway, I seen the homeless man just leaving my neighbors. It was Josh the homeless man. I called his name and he asked me how I knew him. I smiled & said I remembered him. He smiled as did I. I handed him the few coins I had in my pocket & said God bless you and he went on his way.  Yes. He was the homeless man, and yes, he was most definitely, homeless.  Its not often we get a confirmation of something like this, but when we do, praise be to God. When we don’t, trust in God.

    There is a quote I have been holding in my heart for many years and one try to live by.

    “See God in all, Serve God in all, Love God in all” – Blessed Maria Teresa of St. Joseph, Foundress of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus.

    Please keep Josh in your prayers.

  • A Wounded Heart

    March 22nd, 2017

    blood

    When you spill your heart of all its contents in love and humility, all that desire and complete confidence, and those you hoped would hear and be moved, simply trample through the blood and contents like nothing… He knows that pain too.

    Many times we confide in others our deepest longings for unity and peace from our hearts and they fall only to be trampled beneath the feet of one who has yet to understand.

    “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” – Matthew 23:37

    Mocked and ignored while on the cross and still,  He was pouring out everything to who was waiting.

    How many parents today, myself included, have children who no longer practice any faith, who share in His wounded heart. Who long to be heard by those who refuse to listen because they believe they know better. Or how many today have brothers and sisters, parents or cousins who do this also. There is an eminence longing, a deep pain in the family today, from many who do not even understand they are sharing in His pain. Sharing His wounded Sacred Heart.

    How do we fix this? We follow Him. Not fighting the life we have been given by Him, but embracing this life of suffering, falling more deeply in love with Him. Living more deeply in the spiritual life and less in the material life. Rather than being possessed by the pain and suffering we have received, we must allow ourselves to be possessed by His pain, as it comes with His glory in joy.

    If we are possessed by our own pain and sorrow, it is empty and becomes so bitter it can no longer do any good because it is born in pride. Suffering and pain coming from pride opens the door and brings with it wrath which leads to various other vices, some which lead to the destruction of others and self. Which, possesses us to do things that hurt others, self and our Lord.

    If one is not possessed by God alone, (God alone being the Holy Trinity), then by what or who, is one possessed by? It is this total possession in thoughts, works, deeds, of our Lord, being completely consumed with Him, which leads a soul to do that which he ought, and not what he feels because he is compelled by Love. To do what is right and just, and not what is diabolical.

    Great quote:

    HolySpiritLove

    If we are united in His suffering, we will be united in His joy. However, we must also be united in Spirit. If we allow the possessions of this world to take over the areas of that which He is to possess within us, the areas of our lives, that which He should already possess,  how then can we truly say, we are teaching our children the faith, or, we are sharing our faith with our neighbors, if we are not truly practicing our faith? I say this as its my own guilt of not practicing the faith as it should have been lived before I turned back to Him. When we live our faith, faith in every aspect of our lives, we truly can be a beacon of His light in the dark. Hope, however, needs to be reinforced by working our faith in all aspects of our daily life. Be not afraid. Live the faith.

    Lets go back to the opening of my post. When we didn’t listen. When we trampled through His blood. When we mocked Him by refusing to believe. When we were not moved by His words to change, to move closer to Him, to repent and believe. When we refused to quench His thirst for our love for Him. We were covered in His blood. He loved us during every one of those moments. As we should love those who do not yet hear our cries as we are attached to Him, on and from His cross.

    EDIT to Add today: 3/23/17

    “But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons,
    then the Kingdom of God has come upon you..” –

    LK 11:14-23

  • Leaving The Bucket Behind

    March 17th, 2017

    Well560_0

    Leaving the bucket behind, for me, is leaving everything I had and wanted, and accepting all of Him. Following Him. His Truth. As my testimony, leaves me thirsty for more of Him. His, is Life giving water, which one never thirsts again. Its not what I do, but what He continues to do.

    The question for me is no longer, do you believe because of what our Lord has done for me, rather, will you believe because of what He says and does,  and are you willing to allow Him to do everything for you? There must be a willingness in the soul, to answer as our Holy Mother did so, to our Lord, “Let it be done to me according to your word.”. A moment for the soul to surrender to the will of God.

    “Many more began to believe in him because of his word, and they said to the woman, “We no longer believe because of your word; for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the savior of the world.” – John 4:41-42

  • Complete Detachment From Things

    March 14th, 2017

    reaction.jpg

    Complete detachment, with reattachment only to our Lord.

    I was watching a viral “feel good” video this morning of a little girl, who had been grieving the loss of her old cat and was given a “surprise” new kitten. Granted, thy typical click bait title was given: WATCH What Happens Little Girls Reaction is Priceless!

    It was and she was overcome with many emotions and she cried, and the new kitten gets a hug from her new owner. But… What happens when that kitten grows up and runs the course of its life? Lather, rinse and repeat, in regards to the grief, loss and emotions of replacing that kitten again, which becomes a cat and so on. Its the vicious cycle of material attachments.

    As I pondered this more deeply, I couldn’t help but post an update on  my facebook page, not even linking the video or mentioning it in any way which simply said..

    status.

    Mar 14, 2017 9:06am

    Imagine this video… “This little soul lost everything she thought was hers. Her memories, her home, her friends, her children, her livelihood, and her own brothers and sisters, because of her faith in Jesus. Everything she lost God replaced with Jesus Christ. Her reaction is priceless”.

    As I pondered this more deeply, I began to think of how we were all called to give up everything and follow Christ. I strolled over to Twitter and Bishop Robert Barron “just happened” to tweet a new Word On Fire Show. I highly suggest listening to the entire podcast, as it completes my post. Praise, glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • All The False Promises

    March 5th, 2017

    temptation_of_christ

    As I ponder today’s gospel reading, and all the ways the evil one tried to tempt our Lord, so brazen as to offer our Lord everything He already has. Everything, in all creation, belongs to our Lord. This is how empty the so called promises are.

    Imagine the evil one as a door to door salesman, coming to your home, knocking on your door, forcing himself in and trying to sell you everything within your home that you already own. Imagine him pointing to the photos of your family & children, or placing his arms around them, and telling you, if you follow him, you can have them too. This is the insolence of evil. That same evil so full of himself, to approach our Lord and offer Him all that He had already created. What the evil one didn’t take into account, was our Lord’s mission to regain from the evil ones hands, what he thought he had stripped away from Him, was already done.

    Like a hamster on a treadmill, we chase after all these empty promises as if we just go around one more time, we will be filled with them all, when that big break comes! The big break comes, when we are no longer alive and we see the life we lead was full of emptiness and it can no longer be filled with hope, love and faith in our Lord, complete with eternal joy.

    I also remember, that our Lord, had us first, through the sacrament of Baptism when we rejected Satan and all his empty promises. Lent is the opportune time to turn back to Him, inviting Him back into our “homes”, to rid them of that door to door snake oil salesman.

  • When The Bottom Falls Out

    February 27th, 2017

    20170227_205848

    I went to grab a bowl from my cabinet for dinner tonight and when I did, I found this…

    Before finding this, and keep in mind it was one of my favorite bowls, I had received an email from my daughter’s teacher in regards to her struggling with behavior issues again, requesting a meeting. My youngest daughter is on the Autism Spectrum and problems arise when her routine changes.

    Before receiving the email, I had been struggling with other family issues pertaining to my oldest daughter, and my middle daughter is struggling with both issues with her sisters on top of being a very emotional preteen. SO , things have been slightly tense trying to carry it all, not very easily,  and coming to realize that I can not fix anything, but I can hope in our Lord and pray.

    My favorite bowl. When I pulled it down and noticed the bottom had fallen out, all I could think of was, “This too?”. I’m not a materialistic person. The loss of the bowl was a split second of loss, as I got back to the real issues with my girls, which also, I was not able to fix today. So I pray and place it all once again into our Lord hands.

    I sat down and pondered for a moment of all that was taking place. Got back up an pulled that bottomless bowl from the trash and was reminded to cling to our Lord. Stop struggling.

    When things in this world are tough, and everything seems to go so bad that the bottom falls out, cling to our Lord even tighter and don’t let go. When the bottom falls out, your left with the top.  And that is how a “halo” is made.

    A beautiful quote from St. Faustina:

    Sister Faustina wrote of her experiences at the behest of the Lord Jesus:
    My daughter, I demand that you devote all your free moments to writing about My goodness and mercy. It is your office and your assignment throughout your life to continue to make known to souls the great mercy I have for them and to exhort them to trust in My bottomless mercy. (1586)

    “O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You.”

    And this.. is the side of that favorite bowl. His word was not broken.

  • Rich In Worldly Attachments

    February 27th, 2017

    tangled-cables1

    As I ponder today’s Gospel (Mark 10,17-27), my heart is drawn to “the rich man”, being rich in attachments to the things that keep him  from attaining full acceptance to what our Lord is calling him to do, and be.

    Where is your “wealth”? “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or you and despise the other. You can not serve God and wealth.” Is it the amount of prestige we receive from others? Is it in our attachments to that prestige we receive? Is it in the friends and colleges we have attachments to, so to build up these “treasures” for ourselves in this life? As one addresses what they consider to be “wealth”, it also becomes clear, that we do not see very clearly, that our Lord should be our desire. “But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.”

    Listen to this statement: “I’ve been a Roman Catholic my entire life”.

    Now this from today’s Gospel: “And he said to him, ‘Master, I have kept all these since my earliest days.’

    What a common chant of mine from my youth, without having any serious understanding of what it actually meant to be Roman Catholic, and to live the faith, daily as our Lord was calling me to do.

    It becomes obvious, hearing it today, that just because one processes to be one, it does not necessary mean, one knows what it means to be Roman Catholic nor does one seek to look deeper into understanding all one can of the faith they profess to be. Why? Because we are often so rich in worldly attachments that we make excuses not to seek the kingdom of God first. We place our Lord last on our list of “things to do”, when He should always come first. As we heard in yesterdays Gospel:“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or you and despise the other. You can not serve God and wealth.”

    What are you “attached” to, that is keeping you from seeking Him first, placing Him first and keeping Him first?

    Sell it. Meaning, get rid of everything you are attached to, pulling you away from our Lord..

    The Vocation of Marriage

    What is a Vocation?

    Catholic Dictionary

    Term

    VOCATION

    Definition

    A call from God to a distinctive state of life, in which the person can reach holiness. The Second Vatican Council made it plain that there is a “Universal call [vocatio] to holiness in the Church” (Lumen Gentium, 39). (Etym. Latin vocatio, a calling, summoning; from vocare, to call.)

    As a woman, married to my husband, and also one who has accepted our Lords call for me to the Third Order of Carmel, I can strongly attest to the importance of “Ongoing Formation” with my brothers and sister in Carmel. We meet once a month, now, after a few years of discernment on my part, and my orders, as to, is this the correct path for me? Am I doing this because of a call from our Lord or am I doing this for selfish ideal, or for some other purpose that our Lord has not designed? There is a lot of time spent, in prayer and pondering a big decision as this.

    As a married woman, when I look through my entire life, now, I can attest to the strong need for formation, BEFORE the Sacrament of Marriage, starting at a young age, before one jumps into the Vocation blind. As a soul who has had my fair share of interaction of others, who did not understand the Sacred Bond of the Vocation of Marriage, I ate up all the false ideas of this vocation, including the one that the world tries to feed us, that if it doesn’t work, just leave. No. When we come to understand, that decision to leave, is nothing but toxic poison that kills family due our own underdeveloped conscious, and we end up making life worse for not only us, but for all the souls effected by the sudden departure of a new family destroyed by divorce.

    When I was very young, I held the strong belief that if one were to have relations with someone, they were in fact married and nothing could take that bond back, that the two shared together. It was a bond no one else had a right to share with either of the two. The most toxic thing someone told me, not long after I presented that belief I held at a very young age, was, that was the dumbest thing I could ever think or believe. Today, at the age of 50, I forgive that person and know I was right. Hindsight is 20/20. Very clearly I can see that if I had souls in my life at that time, who backed up what we believe in our faith, my life may have been a lot less painful. Only our Lord knows. But I also see how merciful He is, to lead me back to Him and that train of thought which keeps me on His track. Able to teach my daughters how important it is, to preserve the gift of self for the time our Lord has laid out for us, be it Marriage or Religious Life and not just cast ourselves wherever and whenever.

    Getting back to the Vocation,  A call from God to a distinctive state of life, in which the person can reach holiness. With my Vocation in Marriage, I am called to help my husband get to heaven. As he is called in this Vocation, to help me get to heaven. Last year, we were so greatly attacked spiritually and physically, this call could have ended. Through the grace of our Lord, I held on tight knowing, His love, His mercy, His call, that there was no way, on my part, I could allow something like the demon of divorce to be allowed to part, what our Lord had placed together. The temptation to walk away came dangerously close, until I was able to see how “easy” the evil one was making it to leave. I dug in and held on to our Lord, and last weekend, my husband and I renewed our Marriage Vows. This was not something we planned or set up for us to do. I had accepted a fill in request to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for the Saturday Holy Mass, which we very rarely attend, and it was a special event that had been a part of Saturdays Holy Mass, without prior knowledge of either of us.

    Today, there is a report from Pope Francis:

    Marriage prep should be more than just a few courses, Pope tells priests

    I can not tell you how much support I have for this as I am one who truly believes that Marriage preparation begins in the home, the moment our children are given to us as parents. Formation is a life long process, which should be deeply taught to youth, before they even set out in search of a spouse.

    I will leave this here, with a quote in which I find to be so true and one I see to, even today, in my current state of Life, in my Vocation of Marriage.

  • The Lorica, St. Patrick’s Breastplate

    February 24th, 2017

    shamrock

    I bind unto myself today
    The strong Name of the Trinity,
    By invocation of the same,
    The Three in One and One in Three.
    I bind this day to me for ever.
    By power of faith, Christ’s incarnation;
    His baptism in the Jordan river;
    His death on Cross for my salvation;
    His bursting from the spicèd tomb;
    His riding up the heavenly way;
    His coming at the day of doom;

    I bind unto myself today.
    I bind unto myself the power
    Of the great love of the cherubim;
    The sweet ‘well done’ in judgment hour,
    The service of the seraphim,
    Confessors’ faith, Apostles’ word,
    The Patriarchs’ prayers, the Prophets’ scrolls,
    All good deeds done unto the Lord,
    And purity of virgin souls.
    I bind unto myself today
    The virtues of the starlit heaven,
    The glorious sun’s life-giving ray,
    The whiteness of the moon at even,
    The flashing of the lightning free,
    The whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks,
    The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
    Around the old eternal rocks.
    I bind unto myself today
    The power of God to hold and lead,
    His eye to watch, His might to stay,
    His ear to hearken to my need.
    The wisdom of my God to teach,
    His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
    The word of God to give me speech,
    His heavenly host to be my guard.
    Against the demon snares of sin,
    The vice that gives temptation force,
    The natural lusts that war within,
    The hostile men that mar my course;
    Or few or many, far or nigh,
    In every place and in all hours,
    Against their fierce hostility,
    I bind to me these holy powers.
    Against all Satan’s spells and wiles,
    Against false words of heresy,
    Against the knowledge that defiles,
    Against the heart’s idolatry,
    Against the wizard’s evil craft,
    Against the death wound and the burning,
    The choking wave and the poisoned shaft,
    Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning.
    Christ be with me, Christ within me,
    Christ behind me, Christ before me,
    Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
    Christ to comfort and restore me.
    Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
    Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
    Christ in hearts of all that love me,
    Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
    I bind unto myself the Name,
    The strong Name of the Trinity;
    By invocation of the same.
    The Three in One, and One in Three,
    Of Whom all nature hath creation,
    Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
    Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
    Salvation is of Christ the Lord.

    Amen

    Give ear to my words, O Lord,
    Consider my meditation.
    Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God:
    For unto thee will I pray.
    My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
    In the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
    For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness:
    Neither shall evil dwell with thee.
    The foolish shall not stand in thy sight:
    thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
    Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing:
    The Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
    But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of
    thy mercy:
    And in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
    Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies;
    Make thy way straight before my face.
    For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
    Their inward part is very wickedness;
    Their throat is an open sepulchre;
    They flatter with their tongue.
    Destroy thou them, O God;
    Let them fall by their own counsels;
    Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions;
    For they have rebelled against thee.
    But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice:
    Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:
    Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
    For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous;
    With favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
    Psalm 5

  • Old Man And The New Man

    February 21st, 2017

    P35

    Once an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested.
    Days later the young man was proven innocent. After being released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him.
    In the court the old man told the Judge:
    “They were just comments, didn’t harm anyone.”
    The judge told the old man:
    “Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Tear it up on the way home and throw away the pieces. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence.”
    Next day, the judge told the old man:
    “Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.”
    The old man said:
    “I can’t do that! The wind spread them and I won’t know where to find them.”
    The judge then replied:
    “The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can’t speak well of someone, rather don’t say anything.”

    *”Let’s all be masters of our words rather than being slaves of our words.”*

    “Write everything down, on the way home, tear it up and throw away the pieces” <— Its very important to understand, we just don’t cast it (sin) to the wind where it is taken all over and others read it and are influenced by it to do the same. We place it in the trash can when we get home. That “trash can” is the confessional and you know where home is. And when you place it there, leave it there.

    When I read this above, which was shared on Facebook by a Catholic Priest,  I can see myself as both the young man and the old man. The “old self” and the “new self”.

    And what is a soul to do? Trust in our Lord. Place your faith in our Lord. Hope in our Lord. Believe Him. Love Him.

  • Reports Of Civil War

    February 16th, 2017

    rosary-in-hand

    According to the “media” there is a “civil war” inside the Catholic Church over “doctrine”….

    Has it dawned on anyone that there really isn’t?  Can the left index finger declare war against the right index finer on the same “Body”? The only “war” that exists, is between souls out of communion with our Lord, and our Lord. “Enter through the narrow gate.” comes to heart and mind.

    “Jesus answered and said to him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” – John 14:23

  • The Misunderstood Command: GO OUT

    January 30th, 2017

    will-you-go-out-with-me

    Pope Francis to the laity: Go out and evangelize, or buy mothballs

    This blog, has been an ongoing conversion story of what our Lord has done for me. What about you? Jesus is asking you: Will you go out with Me?

    Share YOUR story   We know what our Lords canonized Saints have done and what our Lord has done to them, now, what about the Saints we do not know about? That is you and I  “Go Out” and share what He has done. Do not get discouraged when you share your story. Do not become filled with regret when you share.  Be sure of one thing. Even if no one accepts it, our Lord does as He did it to you. Peace

    “do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be alarmed, for I am your God. I give you strength, truly I help you, truly I hold you firm with my saving right hand.”

  • Rigid Scrupulosity

    January 16th, 2017

    dont-believe1-240x300-e1436295050226

    If I believe, that in my worst state of life, when our Lord converted my heart, that He would never convert another in that way, that would not be humility speaking, but pride. Pride in the fact that our Lord would only do this for me, and not another. What good is my witness to the Truth for others, in sharing what He has done for me, if it was not for all? “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.”

    Not everyone loves. What is love? If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

    There is a point in being rigid, in which you notice every sin, and see this world and everyone in it, as a “forsaken place.” “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”. Without total joy but only touches of joy within. When that takes place, one must always look deeper within ones self, to see that point where we once were that once hardened sinner, and where our Lord converted our hearts also. KNOWING without a doubt, He loves and seeks to convert the hearts of all, as He has ours. Remember where you came from.

    I have often thought of why I was so hard on myself. Why I expected so much of myself (in the faith) and never let my self off the hook, so to speak. But in contrast, I give everyone a pass and after suggesting to others, and when they refused the suggestion, loved them anyway. Praying one day our Lord would open their hearts. It goes with we can only inform, not convert. You can lead but you can not make them drink. The best way to evangelize is to live the faith and be the example. You can’t expect others to become the example of what you yourself are not living. You can not force another soul to love our Lord. Love is part of the relationship with Him, that the soul grows to do. By doing this, growing to love Him, we learn through our own faults and His Truth, what Love is in the first place, and THEN make a “Conscious Effort” because we all have “free will”, to adhere to obedience to Him.

    Its one thing to be extremely rigid with yourself. Its quite another to be rigid with others.

    “the pride of believing in one’s righteousness” – Rigid = Scrupulosity: Scrupulosity: rigid, obsessive adherence to rules, codes of ethics, or guidelines.

    I do not believe for a second Pope Francis is speaking about those who are proper in doctrine and liturgy. Rather, rigid in the sence of  demanding that others bring themselves up to your level, (Seeing ones self in a higher state or position) rather than accepting we are all on the same level of Love that our Lord has for us. Luke 14: 7-14 When this takes place, everything we feel is not orthodox or practical becomes the law we adhere to, and not our Lord. Its a misplaced attachment to things we all fail at from time to time and in all honestly, we know we do, and we fix it the next time. Others who are suffering from this, will be quick to condemn, and point it out, over & over & over, (Remember that one time in band camp?”) no matter how we have fixed this issue or how much time has passed.

    Yes, I am finally able to comment re: Pope: ‘God calls us to be merciful and good, not rigid’

  • Wait… What?

    January 15th, 2017

    94a253cd47308e778c06dde9018e034d

    That moment you catch it. Something in scripture you never noticed before. Scripture you have heard a thousand times, and it just hits you.

    Pondering…

    “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from heaven
    and remain upon him.
    I did not know him,
    but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
    ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain,
    he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.”

    “But the one who sent me to baptize with water told me”

    Full Gospel from today:

    John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
    “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
    He is the one of whom I said,
    ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me
    because he existed before me.’
    I did not know him,
    but the reason why I came baptizing with water
    was that he might be made known to Israel.”
    John testified further, saying,
    “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from heaven
    and remain upon him.
    I did not know him,
    but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
    ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain,
    he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
    Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”

  • 2016 Is Dying

    December 30th, 2016

    christian-happy-new-year-2016-images

    Tomorrow, at the stroke of Midnight, death will come to 2016. At that exact moment, the birth of 2017.

    As this past year is coming to an end, and we ponder the past year in review, many who see 2016 as the worst year they have seen in regards to death, suffering and trials,  may we take it as a view of moving past a moment in history and into the new life ahead that awaits. May we look at the deaths, destruction and misery as something to avoid in the coming year and see this as a place to make the change within ourselves to not do the things that got us into this misery in the first place, again.  I pray for my readers that this is a new year to come, that includes our Lord, in the life we have been given now, to give the glory, honor and praise to Him, while we are alive and do not wait to give it to Him when others place us into our own graves. I pray for us all to look at these trials as moments to repent and not spiteful.  2016 is dying, and we should leave the hate and spite for one another, we had, die with it, looking forward to true change, in our hearts from our Lord.

    When I first began to ponder the very first sentence of this blog post, what came into my heart was the first chapter of the Gospel of John. As we welcome the glorious birth of our Lord at Christmas, just a week after, the new year begins and the old is no more but memory. A moment of suffering, for eternal bliss.  The beginning of the end, that comes to the glorious Resurrection of our Lord at Easter, in which our Lord triumphs over death. A new beginning.

    May we all place our faith, trust and love and hope, where it truly belongs this coming year, in our Lord Jesus Christ, completely. May you know much Peace, Joy, Love and Hope in the coming year. May you come to know Jesus Christ, who gives these to you freely and abundantly.

    God bless you in the coming new year, and years to come.

    As I read this post by Fr. Stephen this morning, I found it to be very moving and a  beautiful reminder as to how our Lord truly is the Head of the Church, His bride. The Night Before Christmas comes to mind and heart within me. With Fr. Stephens approval, here are a few of his thoughts…

    FEEL FREE TO SHARE MY THOUGHTS!

    For the benefit of those who haven’t followed me, here is JUST THREE of my posts or comments about the connection between VCII and AL and the movement of the Holy Spirit.

    Holy Spirit: we know over the centuries the Holy Spirit has always brought His Church through dark times to the truth. E.G. Centuries of heresies, some saturating, about the divinity and humanity of Christ. But the Holy Spirit will always expose error and lead us to the truth. So let me start with a simple example. I love Pope Benedict. But when Benedict was Pope, few among the average worldwide Catholics knew that several of Benedict’s fellow German bishops had heretical beliefs. He surely didn’t expose them. He retires and Francis calls this Synod which exposed Kasper et al and their false beliefs. Remember Kasper et al wanted their teaching extended to homosexual relationships. Francis wouldn’t touch that but we see the same false teaching of Kasper et al applied to these relationships and this problem is now getting a lot of attention. So the Synod and AL is exposing a lot of false teaching and teachers. Now I do not know whether this was Francis’ intent, but it is the intent and work of the Holy Spirit to expose false teaching and purge His Church of it. The problems we see now go deeper than the issue of marriage and sins against it. This is about the heresies around mortal sin and conscience… The Fundamental Option and relativistic heresies of consequentialism and proportionalism which go back prior to VCII. Prior to the council though they were hidden within the Church as were the false teachers. Many criticize the council for what it caused, but what it caused was this boil which had been growing under the skin for years to rise above the surface to be lanced. We saw the puss and the smell post VCII. Much was confronted by JPII (his encyclicals) but during his and Benedicts’ reigns many of the heretics went on the lay low, but this issue of what is mortal sin, the conscience, its relationship to confession and marriage has never gone away. It was the root issue around the backlash against HV and it is the root issue now. So I feel that this heresy of the fundamental option is being exposed again by the Holy Spirit so everyone can see who believes it and who adheres to true Catholic teaching so it can finally be put to rest. Bottom line, you know and I know, that one unrepented mortal sin can cost us our salvation. Kasper, McElroy, Cupich and many others don’t seem to believe that. They seem to believe in the fundamental option. This has been going on for 50 plus years. I believe this will be the final exposition of this heresy and the final rejection of it. This may not be Francis’ intent but it is the intent of the Holy Spirit. This fight has been needed for decades and I have been itching for it since I have been a priest because 50 years ago the FO caused me to walk away from my Faith. Today, We are slowly but surely seeing where everyone stands. That is always the second step of the Holy Spirit. Expose the false teachers. Many have taught against these heresies (1st move of the Holy Spirit), but few have exposed the heretics (2nd move) . They are being exposed now. The third step of the Holy Spirit will be the cleansing.

    Here is what happened after VCII and seems like it is happening here.
    1st we need to understand that there are bishops and priests who are going to disobey Church teaching regardless of how clear it is. When this happens after Councils ( VCII) or in this case, a document, AL, those who desire obedience will often point to the Council or document as faulty. Fact is, the fault is in the heart of the disobedient. The fact that the disobedient are now being exposed is the work of the Holy Spirit. And the disobedient is neither the Pope or the Cardinals of the Dubia. The disobedient are shepherds like Kasper, McElroy and others who are using this as an opportunity to justify their disobedience…allowing anyone in good conscience to receive communion in spite of sexual intimacy.
    Have you read the 16 documents of VCII? Where is there ambiguity? Give me one example. I will give you an example to make my point about disobedience in spite of truth. Read the document on the liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium! You will see what the Council intended and what the libs did were two disparate things. The craziness that came out after VCII existed in the Church prior to VCII. VCII was a movement of the Holy Spirit to lance a boil that had grown so the puss could be released and cleaned up. It takes 50 to 100 years for the fruits of a council to be seen in its fullest. The heresies that existed prior to VCII that came to the light after still exist. Now we know who are pushing these heresies. Let me give you another example of the movement of the Holy Spirit more recently (and I am really tired of stating this for the outsiders to my page). Few average Catholics under Benedict (and I love Benedict) knew that many of his fellow German bishops were pushing heresy. Benedict didn’t expose them. But the Synod exposed them. Remember Kasper and the boys wanted to give gays the right to have sex and still receive communion (see elsewhere on my page). Now we know who the good guys are and who is bogus. The boil grew back because the heretics went underground during JPII’s papacy. (Remember Kasper is a product of JPII). The boil is being lanced again. I believe this could be the final battle to deal with the “fundamental option” heresy that has lingered going back pre VCII. This heresy is at the core of everything we are seeing now and was at the core of the backlash after HV and VCII.

    Here is a 4th comment…

    As I have said often, the Holy Spirit is moving in His Church. Now Francis may not be intentional in this movement but he is the Pope so he has to be a part of it. So I posit!
    If the Pope is perfectly clear (as was JPII and Benedict), the disobedient false teachers would go on the lay low and continue doing what they have been doing! Causing division through disobedience. The Holy Father remains vague and everyone has to vocalize their interpretation of AL thus exposing what they believe…truth or heresy. I have been clear about this! Few knew that Kasper et al was a heretic under his fellow German Pope, Benedict. Everyone knows now. JPII taught the truth but elevated Kasper and Cupich to bishops. See my comment above about the 3movements of the Holy Spirit. – Fr. Stephen Imbarrato

    The soul, has grown aware of her obligations and observed that life is short (Job 14:5), the path leading to eternal life constricted (Mt. 7:14), the just one scarcely saved (1 Pet. 4:18), the things of the world vain and deceitful (Eccles. 1:2), that all comes to an end and fails like falling water (2 Sam. 14:14), and that the time is uncertain, the accounting strict, perdition very easy, and salvation very difficult. She knows on the other hand of her immense indebtedness to God for having created her solely for Himself, and that for this she owes Him the service of her whole life; and because He redeemed her solely for Himself she owes Him every response of love. She knows, too, of the thousand other benefits by which she has been obligated to God from before the time of her birth, and that a good part of her life has vanished, that she must render an account of everything—of the beginning of her life as well as the later part—unto the last penny (Mt. 5:25) when God will search Jerusalem with lighted candles (Zeph. 1:12), and that it is already late—and the day far spent (Lk. 24:29)—to remedy so much evil and harm. She feels on the other hand that God is angry and hidden because she desired to forget Him so in the midst of creatures, Touched with dread and interior sorrow of heart over so much loss and danger, renouncing all things, leaving aside all business, and not delaying a day or an hour, with desires and sighs pouring from her heart, wounded now with the love for God, she begins to call her Beloved.  – St. John of the Cross

  • Free Climate Change Education

    December 8th, 2016

    Side

    adam-and-eve-in-the-garden-of-eden-1530

    RE: Priests ‘should learn about climate change as part of their formation’

    Two sides of the education:

    Side one..

    Climate Change & Global Warming = Garbage science of secular propaganda where man believes he can control the climate by buying it away & making tons of money selling it to consumers (AKA suckers) feeding off fears of global destruction.

    “Money is in some respects like fire; it is a very excellent servant but a terrible master. ” – P. T. Barnum

    Now..

    Side two…

    side-wound

    Our Lords “Global Warming” & Changing the Climate within = a serious conversion of heart, turning from sin and towards Him, loving Him first and realizing the natural desire of love (Before the fall of Adam & Eve) is love one another which includes taking care of (nurturing) ALL CREATION & Creatures of God’s, for future generations for the glory of God and not self…

    From the CCC
    God creates an ordered and good world
    299 Because God creates through wisdom, his creation is ordered: “You have arranged all things by measure and number and weight.”151 The universe, created in and by the eternal Word, the “image of the invisible God”, is destined for and addressed to man, himself created in the “image of God” and called to a personal relationship with God.152 Our human understanding, which shares in the light of the divine intellect, can understand what God tells us by means of his creation, though not without great effort and only in a spirit of humility and respect before the Creator and his work.153 Because creation comes forth from God’s goodness, it shares in that goodness – “And God saw that it was good. . . very good” 154- for God willed creation as a gift addressed to man, an inheritance destined for and entrusted to him. On many occasions the Church has had to defend the goodness of creation, including that of the physical world. 155

    God upholds and sustains creation.
    301 With creation, God does not abandon his creatures to themselves. He not only gives them being and existence, but also, and at every moment, upholds and sustains them in being, enables them to act and brings them to their final end. Recognizing this utter dependence with respect to the Creator is a source of wisdom and freedom, of joy and confidence:

    For you love all things that exist, and detest none of the things that you have made; for you would not have made anything if you had hated it. How would anything have endured, if you had not willed it? Or how would anything not called forth by you have been preserved? You spare all things, for they are yours, O Lord, you who love the living. 160

    Psalm 104

    I

    1 Bless the LORD, my soul!

    LORD, my God, you are great indeed!

    You are clothed with majesty and splendor,

    2 robed in light as with a cloak.

    You spread out the heavens like a tent;

    3 setting the beams of your chambers upon the waters.

    You make the clouds your chariot;

    traveling on the wings of the wind.

    4 You make the winds your messengers;

    flaming fire, your ministers.

    II

    5 You fixed the earth on its foundation,

    so it can never be shaken.

    6 The deeps covered it like a garment;

    above the mountains stood the waters.

    7 At your rebuke they took flight;

    at the sound of your thunder they fled.

    8 They rushed up the mountains, down the valleys

    to the place you had fixed for them.

    9 You set a limit they cannot pass;

    never again will they cover the earth.

    III

    10 You made springs flow in wadies

    that wind among the mountains.

    11 They give drink to every beast of the field;

    here wild asses quench their thirst.

    12 Beside them the birds of heaven nest;

    among the branches they sing.

    13You water the mountains from your chambers;

    from the fruit of your labor the earth abounds.

    14 You make the grass grow for the cattle

    and plants for people’s work

    to bring forth food from the earth,

    15wine to gladden their hearts,

    oil to make their faces shine,

    and bread to sustain the human heart.

    16 The trees of the LORD drink their fill,

    the cedars of Lebanon, which you planted.

    17 There the birds build their nests;

    the stork in the junipers, its home.

    18 The high mountains are for wild goats;

    the rocky cliffs, a refuge for badgers.

    IV

    19 You made the moon to mark the seasons,

    the sun that knows the hour of its setting.

    20 You bring darkness and night falls,

    then all the animals of the forest wander about.

    21 Young lions roar for prey;

    they seek their food from God.

    22 When the sun rises, they steal away

    and settle down in their dens.

    23 People go out to their work,

    to their labor till evening falls.

    V

    24 How varied are your works, LORD!

    In wisdom you have made them all;

    the earth is full of your creatures.

    25 There is the sea, great and wide!

    It teems with countless beings,

    living things both large and small.

    26 There ships ply their course

    and Leviathan, whom you formed to play with.

    VI

    27 All of these look to you

    to give them food in due time.

    28 When you give it to them, they gather;

    when you open your hand, they are well filled.

    29 When you hide your face, they panic.

    Take away their breath, they perish

    and return to the dust.

    30 Send forth your spirit, they are created

    and you renew the face of the earth.

    VII

    31 May the glory of the LORD endure forever;

    may the LORD be glad in his works!

    32 Who looks at the earth and it trembles,

    touches the mountains and they smoke!

    33 I will sing to the LORD all my life;

    I will sing praise to my God while I live.

    34 May my meditation be pleasing to him;

    I will rejoice in the LORD.

    35 May sinners vanish from the earth,

    and the wicked be no more.

    Bless the LORD, my soul! Hallelujah!

    End of education

    Thank you & God bless you always

    The media loves to stir the pot. Here is the actual document issued today. Tell me where exactly that headline at the top of this post, is the only thing covered in the actual Document released today. • Injustice Of Divorced And Remarried Receiving Holy Communion

    November 29th, 2016

    pope-francis-and-eucharist-660x330

    Pondering souls being granted full communion after Divorce and remarriage outside of the Church. SEE: Top Vatican Cardinal: Not Even A Pope Can Change Divine Law on Communion

    Personal thoughts and ponderings as I have been here. See: Cohabitation And Holy Communion along with Gift Of Marriage and various other posts in this personal journey back to our Lord.

    Knowingly granting full communion to any soul who does not admit error, without the process of Annulment, is unjust and an injustice to the souls in error.

    The soul in error therefore is robbed of seeking and finding Divine Provence in the deeper meaning she or he has been called to find our Lord in.

    The souls granting full communion to the soul, removing “punishment”, being separated from receiving our Lord in Holy Communion, are committing a grave error by becoming a stumbling block, as our Lord once called St. Peter for trying to stand in His way from what He must do, to the soul called to a deeper union with our Lord. I ponder the millstone placed around the neck of one who keeps one of this little children from Him. Far to often we forget that punishment due to our sinfulness is a grace, (purgative) which allows the soul to see a deeper Love of our Lord, and seek that full union. Separation makes the heart grow fonder. We must understand that this separation, no mater how painful in this life, through our own fault, is a temporary separation, in which we are called to a deepness of our Lord, that at any other time in our lives, would never have been found, without the grace of repentance.

    Above is a deeper pondering from and earlier FB post I had made from a calling in my heart:

    When punishment is removed IE. in regards to not being able to receive our Lord through our own fault (Mortal Sin) of marriage outside of the Church laws of Marriage, we remove the souls conscious of right and wrong, creating lukewarm souls, instead of souls on fire for our Lord to DO in Love for Him, what is right and just, by wanting to FIX what we have done wrong. We take away personal responsibility to encounter our Lord in the very simple act of turning from our fault, and turning to His mercy.

    Please Read: The Church at the Service of the Family  – From St. John Paul II

    FAMILIARIS CONSORTIO

    Take from the above link:

    Gradualness and Conversion

    9. To the injustice originating from sin-which has profoundly penetrated the structures of today’s world-and often hindering the family’s full realization of itself and of its fundamental rights, we must all set ourselves in opposition through a conversion of mind and heart, following Christ Crucified by denying our own selfishness: such a conversion cannot fail to have a beneficial and renewing influence even on the structures of society.

    What is needed is a continuous, permanent conversion which, while requiring an interior detachment from every evil and an adherence to good in its fullness, is brought about concretely in steps which lead us ever forward. Thus a dynamic process develops, one which advances gradually with the progressive integration of the gifts of God and the demands of His definitive and absolute love in the entire personal and social life of man. Therefore an educational growth process is necessary, in order that individual believers, families and peoples, even civilization itself, by beginning from what they have already received of the mystery of Christ, may patiently be led forward, arriving at a richer understanding and a fuller integration of this mystery in their lives.

  • Post US Election Observation

    November 14th, 2016

    jesus-king-of-kings

    I need to make one thing very clear to some Catholics on facebook, (edit to add: and Catholics all over “social media”) attacking other Catholics who voted for Trump. Remember when we had Primary’s in this country and the same folks who were FORCED to vote for Trump in the General Election, did NOT in any way support Trump and choose another candidate? No. You don’t. Because you can’t see past the beam in your own eye while you try to pick the sliver out of your neighbors eye.

    Your third party candidate didn’t win. Clinton didn’t win. And when THIS Catholic voted for Trump, I held my nose and voted, doing my civic duty, because NEITHER candidate was, in my mind, worthy of the title of President of the USA. As for your third party Candidate? I live in California, and a vote for ANY candidate not a Democrat, doesn’t matter because this state is so blue, its dead. I have grown tired of being accused of Trump Worship or any political leader worship simply because I didn’t vote for YOUR guy, by those who obviously do not understand that there ARE people in this country who do not worship political leaders, NOR the “Idols” we create for ourselves which separate us from our Lord.

    Adding to the pettiness of the communist & socialist protests in the streets, by engaging in the same Anti-Catholic rhetoric as they do, falsely accusing your Brothers & Sisters in Christ, and attacking back with prideful hurt “feelings” because you can’t yet live the Beatitudes, brings NOTHING to the Glory of our Lord. I highly suggest you put away your political rantings reeking of idol worship hidden behind the banner of “Social Justice”, which truly exposes your false piety, and lack of love for neighbor and return to your first Love. 1 John 4:18.

    Here is the thing about the political left and political right. They both practice the same religion of nationalism. The hate on one side, is no different than the hate on the other side. I beg my brothers & sister in Christ, to pull closer to our Lord. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Hold fast and tight to our Lord. Practice what is preached. Pray more and LOVE anyway. – Peg Demetris

  • Fools Gold

    November 11th, 2016

    foolsgold400

    “Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.”

    While a man relishes in the fleeting glory of a Cubs win, or a Trump victory, he must always keep in mind that all that glitters is not gold, and this worldly “glory” is but fleeting to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, which never fades nor the relishing in, come to demise simply at the next world series or presidential election, but is forever eternal.

    If we seek the Eternal Glory of our Lord, we must never be content in the “consolation prizes” but simply in our Lords own consolation, that in this life, we come to know, through His Word and His promise to those who endure until the very end.
